Dads Evoking Change
Dads Evoking Change (DEC) exists to ensure every father has a fair chance to parent his children. DEC supports dads navigating the challenges of child custody and child support, especially those who are low-income, fathers of color, or young fathers without access to legal representation.
The organization empowers fathers through education, advocacy, and connection, offering practical tools and guidance to help them show up fully for their children and families.
How Dads Evoking Change supports fathers:
Legal Guidance and Advocacy: Free legal consultations that help fathers understand their rights and navigate the family court system with confidence.
Co-Parenting and Mediation: Workshops and support sessions that encourage collaboration, improve communication, and build stronger family dynamics.
Community and Financial Support: Access to trusted local resources for employment, financial stability, and personal growth.
One Dad at a Time:
DEC builds a network of ambassadors who stand with fathers facing legal, emotional, and financial hardship. This community provides a lifeline for men who want to do right by their children but face systemic and financial obstacles that make it difficult.
What They Believe:
DEC advocates for sensible child custody and support agreements that put the child’s well-being first and strengthen the family as a whole. Their vision is a reformed family court system (free from bias and discrimination) where every father, regardless of income or race, has an equal opportunity to parent.
At DWALY, we proudly feature Dads Evoking Change in the Fatherhood Impact Library because their mission mirrors ours: empower fathers, protect families, and create lasting change.
